Word Hunt
You have two minutes to find as many words as you can by joining neighbouring letters in the grid. Longer words score more.
How to Play
- Press Start. The grid appears and the two-minute timer begins.
- Make words by dragging across letters that touch, including diagonally. You can't use the same square twice in one word.
- You can also type a word into the box and press Enter. The game checks that it can be traced on the grid.
- Words need at least three letters. Qu counts as two letters on one square.
- Scoring: 3-4 letters 1 point, 5 letters 2, 6 letters 3, 7 letters 5, and 8 or more 11.
- When time runs out you'll see every word you missed.
Tips & Strategy
- Look for common endings like -ED, -ER, -ING and -S to turn one word into several.
- Spend the first few seconds on short words to get going, then hunt for long ones.
- Vowels in the middle of the grid connect to the most letters.
- Check the missed-words list after each round. It's the fastest way to improve.

About 60,000 common English words, in both British and American spellings. Proper nouns, abbreviations and offensive words are left out.
Everyone gets the same grid on the same date, and you get one two-minute round with it. Practice gives you a new random grid every round.
The word list is downloaded the first time you open the game (around 100 KB) and is then cached by your browser.
Your best score for each mode is stored in your browser's local storage on this device only.
