Find four groups of four words.

How to Play

  1. Pick four words that you think share a hidden connection.
  2. Press Submit. If all four belong to the same group, that group is revealed with its title.
  3. If they don't, you lose one of your four mistakes. "One away" means three of your four words belong together.
  4. Keep going until you've found all four groups, or until you run out of mistakes.
  5. Groups range from easiest (yellow) to hardest (purple). Every word belongs to exactly one group.
  6. Daily gives everyone the same puzzle each day. Practice lets you play puzzles from the archive.

Tips & Strategy

  • Look for the red herrings first: words that could fit two groups are usually the key to the puzzle.
  • Solve the group you're surest of first, which leaves fewer words to sort.
  • Think beyond meanings: hidden words, anagrams, rhymes and "___ word" phrases all show up.
  • Use Shuffle when you're stuck. Seeing the words in a new order can make a link jump out.
