Random Picker
Paste your names or set a number range, choose how many winners you need, and draw, with or without the animation.
Overview
The Random Picker draws winners from either a list of names (one per line) or a range of whole numbers. It uses the browser's cryptographic random number generator, the same source as the site's Password Generator and Random Number Generator, so every pick is unbiased and can't be predicted from earlier ones.
You decide how many winners to draw and whether the same entry may win more than once. In number mode you can also exclude specific numbers or whole ranges, and in list mode the Shuffle list button reorders your entries in place. Winners are chosen before the animation starts: the wheel (for short lists) or the slot-style ticker (for longer ones) only reveals a result that is already decided, so turning the animation off never changes the outcome.
Examples & Sample Data
Pick one name from a list
Alice, Bob, Charlie, David (one per line), 1 winner
Charlie
Number draw with an exclusion
Numbers 1 to 100, exclude 13, 1 winner
57
Three unique winners
Alice, Bob, Charlie, David, Erin, 3 winners, no duplicates
1. Erin 2. Alice 3. David
How It Works
- Choose List of names or Number range.
- Enter your entries, one per line, or set the minimum and maximum plus any numbers or ranges to exclude.
- Set how many winners to draw and whether the same entry can win more than once.
- Press Draw. Keep the animation on to watch a spinning wheel (fewer than 12 entries) or a slot-style ticker (12 or more) reveal each winner, or turn it off for an instant result.
- Copy the result, or use Share to send it from your device.
Common Use Cases
Giveaways and raffles
Draw one or several winners from a list of participants or ticket numbers, live in front of an audience if you like.
Classroom and meetings
Pick who answers next, who presents first, or who takes the notes.
Team assignments
Shuffle a roster, or draw people for tasks, teams or on-call turns.
Number draws
Pull ticket or seat numbers from a range, skipping the ones that are already taken.
Tips & Best Practices
- A name listed twice counts as two entries, so it has double the chance of being picked. Without duplicates it can still only win once.
- Exclude numbers accepts commas and ranges, for example: 7, 13, 40-45.
- Shuffle list rewrites the entries in the box in a new random order, which is handy for a fair speaking order or seating plan.
- Draws of more than 10 winners show instantly, since revealing that many one by one would take too long.

No. The winners are drawn with the browser's cryptographic random source before the animation begins. The wheel and ticker only show a result that is already decided.
Only if Allow duplicates is on. With it off, once a name has won, every entry with that same name is removed from the rest of the draw.
If your device is set to reduce motion, the animation is turned off automatically and results appear instantly. You can also untick Drawing animation yourself.
