No. The tracking URL is built entirely in your browser using the native URL API — nothing is sent anywhere.
None are strictly required by the tool, but utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign are the three most analytics platforms expect for meaningful reporting.
The tool shows an error asking you to include a protocol (e.g. https://) — it never silently produces a broken link.
