Domain Availability Checker

Works fully offline

Enter a domain to see whether it's already registered or looks available to register.

Overview

Before registering a new domain, it helps to quickly check whether someone else already holds it. This tool queries RDAP — the same registration data the WHOIS Lookup tool uses — and reports whether a registration record exists.

A missing RDAP record usually means a domain is unregistered, but it isn't a guarantee: always confirm with a registrar's own registration flow before assuming a domain is free, since a small number of registries redact rather than omit records for domains that are actually taken.

Examples

Checking availability

example.com
example.com is NOT available — it is already registered.

How It Works

  1. Enter a domain name, e.g. example.com.
  2. Complete the verification check if shown.
  3. Click Check Availability to query the domain's registry via RDAP.
  4. Review whether the domain appears registered or available.

Use Cases

Picking a domain for a new project

Quickly rule out domain names that are already taken before deciding what to register.

Confirming a domain lapsed

Check whether a domain you were watching has become available again.

Tips

  • An "available" result here is a strong signal, not a guarantee — always confirm through a registrar's own registration flow before relying on it, since RDAP silence can also mean a registry is redacting the record.

FAQ

The domain you enter is sent to our server, which queries the domain's registry via RDAP on your behalf — nothing else about you is sent or stored.

This lookup queries external registry infrastructure on your behalf, so a quick bot check helps keep the tool available and responsive for everyone.

No — it only checks whether a domain appears registered. Registering a domain has to be done through a domain registrar.
